We design and fabricate a wide range of structural and bespoke steel products, all of them made to order in our Retford workshop.

Sizes, loads, finishes and materials are specified around your site and the job the item has to do. If you cannot see what you need, please get in touch, as the list below is a guide to the type of work we undertake and is not exhaustive.

Access & Egress

Staircases & Stair Rails

Straight flights, spiral staircases and open tread designs, built to the rise, going and headroom your building actually has. Treads are available in checker plate for a solid surface, or open mesh grating where water and debris need somewhere to drain. Galvanised finishes for external use, painted or powder coated for internal.

Fire Escapes & Fire Escape Ladders

Single domestic flights up to multi storey structures serving larger buildings, sized around the escape route and occupancy figures for the property. Slip resistant treads and a weatherproof coating are fitted as standard, and every design is checked against current Building Regulations before fabrication begins.

Access Ladders

Fixed vertical ladders for plant rooms, roof access, tanks and mezzanine levels, supplied with hoops, safety cages and landing platforms where the climb height calls for them.

Mezzanine Flooring

A practical option for warehouses, plant rooms and storage areas needing more from the footprint they already have. Decks are designed to a stated loading and supplied with matching access ladders, handrails and edge protection. In most cases it works out considerably cheaper than extending the building.

Safety Barriers & Handrails

Balustrades, Balconies & Balcony Railings

A balustrade is a safety barrier before it is anything else. Ours are designed to the horizontal loading and height requirements set out in current Building Regulations, then finished to suit the setting, with galvanised, powder coated and primer painted options available.

The same core detail can serve a warehouse mezzanine and a residential balcony, with the finish adjusted to match the surroundings.

Handrails

Straight runs, returns and stair-following handrails in mild or stainless steel. Where new rail meets existing metalwork, we will match the section and finish so the two appear as one installation.

Security & Boundaries

Gates & Security Grilles

Swing and sliding gates, along with window and door grilles, made to the opening you have. Finishes can be matched to metalwork already in place on site.

Metal Fencing

Commercial and industrial boundaries built to withstand vehicle traffic, weather and daily use. We specify a heavier gauge and heavier fixings than a domestic panel fence, since on most site fencing it is the post that gives way first.

Structural & Process

Structural Steel & Lintels

Beams, columns, portal frames and complete framed structures, designed to the loads and site conditions of the project and supplied UKCA marked under our BS EN 1090-1 certification. Lintels are cut to opening width for new builds, extensions and structural alterations.

Chutes & Trouser Leg Chutes

Built to the dimensions and material specification the process calls for, in mild or stainless steel according to what is passing through and how abrasive it proves to be.

Pipework

Fabrication and installation for commercial and industrial systems, worked to your specification and material requirements.
